Wordpress LScache Plugin: jQuery Error on Console

Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02
Hello, When running Google Console or Lighthouse I get the following error ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined at https://www.mywebsite.com/wp-content/litespeed/cssjs/587e6.js?c7434:1:7 LiteSpeed Report number: ATBTJRIH` Hi, Ive checked with our developer and learnt that this is a common problem with the older version of our plugin. From your report, I can see youre still using V3.6.4, but our official release of V4.0 is already out, and V4.1 is coming soon. Dev Commit of V4.1-rc26 is also available. The jQuery error is eliminated by the new versions. Please give it a try. Regards. Hi @tenkstars When checking or asking in WordPress administration to check for updates. it says the following: Your plugins are all up to date. So Litespeed still remains at Version 3.6.4 Is the update now done through an external website via download? Also here is a screen shot taken today of LiteSpeed WordPress Page https://imgur.com/a/klAqQCK Clicking on the Download on your WordPress plugin page still downloads version 3.6.4 Hi, You need to go to LiteSpeed Cache Toolbox ?> [8] Beta Test. Youll see the button labeled Use Latest GitHub Dev commit . Click on it and then click Upgrade . However, please take a backup of your current configuration before you start the upgrade so that you could switch it back to your current version should you change your mind. Go to LiteSpeed Cache Toolbox ?> [2] Import/Export and click Export to create the backup. Regards. Hi @tenkstars Thanks for the instructions. I have a concern about this. Why would I be using a Beta version of this Plugin? Why are you not updating this Plugin on WordPress.org? This really poses a security issue for us. If it wasnt for the fact that we encountered an error on the JS we would have never known that the plugin was updated almost 2 months ago. There is a reason why we use auto update on our sites, because if there was a security issue, the security issue could be patch automatically when the developer releases the latest update. Please let us know if this plugin will not be longer be updated at WordPress.org as our auto update function for this plugin would be rendered useless. Best regards Hi, Auto update does work. Its just that the latest version available through WordPress.org is still V3.6.4. They wouldnt take a new version from us until it is stabilized, but you can always get a new version directly from the plugin. Regards. Hi @tenkstars Thanks for the feedback. If WordPress is saying that they are not taking the new version of your plugin because its not stable, then I am going to wait until you have a stable version approved by WordPress. The thing is, that after almost 2 months this is hardly a new version . Is the 4.1 version of your plugin that you mentioned is coming soon approved by WordPress? Best regards, Im told V4.1 is being released today but it wont be marked as a stable version for auto update from WordPress.org for another month or so. Hi @tenkstars Thanks for getting back to me on this. I am going to wait until your plugin has an approved version of WordPress. Best regards,
