Wordpress LScache Plugin: htaccess not rewriting new rules for query string drop
Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02 Hi Support under LScache plugin settings, theres a field where you can enter values to drop query string. Why is it not updated when I enter some values under the field. Alternatively, I can access the htaccess file to enter the coding myself. But each time when cache is purged, the newly added values will be deleted from htaccess. Frontend & Backend .htaccess Path is left empty because the plugin has already automatically detect the path. It is also showing current htaccess content from the plugin so I am pretty confident that the htaccess file path is correct. Hi, You can manually put the drop query directive OUTSIDE of LSCWP marker , that way , it wont be deleted again. please check your htaccess file ownership and permissions and if you go to Toolbox -> edit .htaccess , manually edit something and save, does it work ? do you also have some kind of security plugin that would block .htaccess file ? also please provide the report number , you can get it in toolbox -> report -> click send to LiteSpeed Best regards, You can manually put the drop query directive OUTSIDE of LSCWP marker , that way , it wont be deleted again. re: how do I do that? please check your htaccess file ownership and permissions re: current permission is set to 644 and if you go to Toolbox -> edit .htaccess , manually edit something and save, does it work ? re: I tried it, it will work for maybe a few hours, then the code will be removed. Not sure what triggered the deletion of the coding. do you also have some kind of security plugin that would block .htaccess file ? re: Im not sure but I do not have anything similar to wordfence plugin install. also please provide the report number , you can get it in toolbox -> report -> click send to LiteSpeed re: Report Number TIDDWWGB Hi, CacheKeyModify -qs:test post it AFTER LSCWP marker , and BEFORE wordpress rule I tried it, it will work for maybe a few hours, then the code will be removed. Not sure what triggered the deletion of the coding. like you have added it outside of any marker ? just try add something like # test string at top of your .htaccess also please create a new wordpress in a subdir , make it multi-site , then only install LSCWP , and dont install anything else , try the drop query setting , see if it still get removed Best regards, Hi, Im going to mark this topic Resolved , due to lack of activity. If you still need help, please feel free to re-open it. When re-open it, please also change the topic status to not solved Best regards, Sorry for getting back so late. May I ask what you mean by this: also please create a new wordpress in a subdir , make it multi-site , then only install LSCWP , and dont install anything else , try the drop query setting , see if it still get removed How do you create a new wordpress in a subdir? Install two wordpress? I would like to add that I am using openlitespeed server on a vps system if that makes any difference. And this is the installation path for htaccess /home/userabc/domains/abc.com/public_html/.htaccess Whats odd is that, I can rewrite the htaccess file from litespeed cache>toolbox>edit htaccess and along with a bunch of settings that says it will overwrite htaccess. Drop Query String option wont let me add attributes to ignore. If I manually rewrite htaccess under file manager, the settings will be removed once cache is purged.
