Why drop localize resources option?

Wordpress LScache Plugin: Why drop localize resources option?

Hi, I see that in your development branch you dropped Localize resources option ? https://github.com/litespeedtech/lscache_wp/commit/22e8b870e6febe93abac62c5db23ab1a90b246e9 Can you please comment why you decided to do this? The option was very useful for me as through it I was able to serve some resources from my server which cant be localized through other plugins (I tried several options but only Litespeed did the trick for me). For performance improvement, I think Guest Mode is plenty enough. Also wrongly used Localization caused some unnecessary support tickets. Please consider reimplementing the feature. Maybe as advanced one and without preset resources. It was really useful. In my case one plugin was loading its resources from CDN which speed was not that good sometimes and only way to improve page performance was using Localize resources feature in Litespeed Cache. I agree, please do not remove the Localize Resources feature because it has a huge impact on the loading times of our website where 3rd party scripts are used, like Live Chats & Analytics. Please consider moving the menu underneath Advanced as the OP suggested, or just to have a more clearly defined tooltip / documentation on what the feature does & how it will affect your website, in the positive & negative ways. Its a really useful feature for us, and I would be very disappointed to see it removed. Like OP said, there are really no other alternative plugins that can match this feature. Didnt realize this feature can be liked this much Sure will add it back. Relate to this issue. Why the sugggestions on this feature are the same with the un-used js request from 3-party on my website. When I remove LSC plugin then I do not see them on the waterfall tab of gtmetric? LSC include 3-party of twitter, pinterest, linkedin and facebook? Hi @titsmaker @hailite @seanbremner While localize resources might work for some it has for sure been a nightmare for me. If you carry ads on your site like for example Google Adsense, you will find out that your CPM, page RPM and even CPC will drop if you localize adsense JS using this plugin. You will not find out right away but over a period of 30 or even 60 days. You will also have fluctuations in numbers if you are using Google tag manager or Google analytics, as well as Facebook. Sure it improves speed on a site localizing some resources, but speed is worthless if the bottom line of your site income is going to suffer. To @hailite, I think is a good move to drop it for now, because if its not working right its better not to have it working at all, otherwise like you said, you will see unnecessary support tickets .` I have just deactive lite speed cache and active wp rocket. The feature delay js execution is very useful to remove 3-party un-used from twitter linkedin pinterest on my site @worpressy what you advice is like prohibiting eating using forks because somebody stuck it into his eye. Making this function disabled by default is absolutely enough. Also can you please elaborate on why your metrics have fallen due to resources being served locally? @hailite Hi, have you returned this function? I recently updated LS Cache to 4.3 and cant find it there. Still considering to bring it back w/ a static file storage instead of stored in lscache. This todo is keeping delayed due to more priority tasks. Apologize for that. V4.4 is almost ready. I will try to bring this option into v4.5. Thanks a lot for working into that direction!
