Wordpress LScache Plugin: What to do after changing Image Quality on Image Optimization settings

Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02
Hi, All my shops images are already optimized with an Image Quality of 90 (WordPress Image Quality Control), but I want to try 82, so I just changed the number expecting to see a Re-scan button/notice or else, but nothing changed. I searched for info but couldnt find any. What do I have to do to re-optimize all my old previously optimized/compressed images when the quality rate/level/number is changed? And also will all previous (90) images be erased automatically or do I have to do something else like Destroy all optimization data (Remove all previous image optimization requests/results, revert completed optimizations, and delete all optimization files). Maybe theres a walkthrough for all this somewhere or at least it should be, but anyway I couldnt find it. Thanks for your help! Best regards, Hi, no , the setting in image optm , is same as wordpress image quality control , it only happens once when you upload the image, after images are uploaded, it wont have effect again , even you changed it afterwards. Best regards, Hi @CacheCrawler When I first installed the plugin there was an option for optimizing by batches all the images that were already on my shop, it took a while but It was completed: Images optimized and pulled: 4233 groups (20584 images) From this quantity around 2 thousand were added/uploaded with new products after the plugin was installed. So, what you say is that theres no way to perform that initial optimization again, and it wont be given even after clicking on Destroy all optimization data (Remove all previous image optimization requests/results, revert completed optimizations, and delete all optimization files) option/button? Maybe I didnt understand, but if thats so, then what would happen if I run Destroy all optimization data (Remove all previous image optimization requests/results, revert completed optimizations, and delete all optimization files) option/button.? Thanks for your help @CacheCrawler !, sorry to bother. Best regards, Hi, What do I have to do to re-optimize all my old previously optimized/compressed images when the quality rate/level/number is changed? It wont change anything on your original image or optimized image for the ones you have optimized or uploaded before you made this change this quality rate only apply for once , to each image, at the moment it was uploaded, so no matter how/what you change it into , it wont affect the existing images so even if you destroy and re-optm them again , it will be same images as they were before you destroy Best regards, Hi @CacheCrawler Ok, got it. Thanks again for all your help! Best regards, Destroy all optimization data (Remove all previous image optimization requests/results, revert completed optimizations, and delete all optimization files) option/button? This options remove all images from upload folder and restore everything to default? Because im using a new CDN which does all the job on fly. So i want to reduce the upload folder size, which is 13gb now.
