Wordpress LScache Plugin: WEBp for background image
Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02 Hello, it seems that webp images are not served for backgrounds (please visit the link attached). I enabled webp replacement, what else I can do? thank you The page I need help with: https://benprogetti.it/aree-gioco/ Search is your friend https://wordpress.org/search/background+image+webp+intext%3A%22Plugin%3A+LiteSpeed+Cache%22/ Yes Ive already searched before posting, but I didnt find a solution. The plugin is supposed to replace webp backgrounds natively, but for some reason is not working Hi, you can firstly check the .webp file exists or not https://benprogetti.it/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/parco-giochi-la-loggia.jpg this one doesnt have webp version ,so it wont be replaced best regards, Hi, so the issue seems located in the image optimization panel. here all the images seems optimized: https://imgur.com/a/8zZl6xT I set Auto Request Cron and Auto Pull Cron, so I cannot send request manually. From the dashboard all the images seems optimized? Hi, no , from your screenshot , all images are optmed already but there are sometimes, some images wont get webp version for various reasons best regards, What can I do? Do you have any suggestions? The same header in some pages is converted (this for ex: https://benprogetti.it/clienti/) and in other pages is not. its not about the page if the image doesnt have webp , it cant replace it to something that doesnt exist most common case is that webp file results in large size , so it just drops it , as there is no point to keep the webp file. Yes sure, but the question is why the webp image was not created in this case. The header images weight is under 300k. Can I try deleting al the optimized files and try pulling them again? Do you think it could help? you can try , but I dont think it will make any difference , should be same result why the webp image was not created in this case as I have said in last reply , most common reason is the webp file results bigger than jpg file , and in this case, there is point to keep the bigger file and not use smaller one. oh, I understand..unfortunately pagespeed insight keep lowering down the scores if you use images not in webp format lets see what I could do.. thanks one way is to manually generate the webp file and put it in same dir of that file , LSCWP will check if it exists or not oh great I will try this please make sure the name matches , e.g. original file is test.jpg then you need to make it test.jpg.webp, basically , attach .webp after it Yes, Will do!
