Wordpress LScache Plugin: Unacceptable! 404 errors still in Version 4.4.2
Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02 This issue needs to be fixed ASAP, it has been dragging on for months now. Random 404 issues loading CSS from LiteSpeed cache directory causing websites to not load style is totally unacceptable. We have multi million pound companies with several websites just loading blank white screens. There is only so many apologies we can give as an agency as to why this keeps happening. Please fix this asap This topic was modified 1 year, 1 month ago by Wayne. Hi, Wayne, I am so sorry to hear that its still happening on your sites. v4.4.2 has fixed all the known bugs at the time we got report about. Unfortunately indeed we still got a few (the exact number is 3, excluding yours) reports after that its still happening on some sites. From the scale, its much much less than before since all of the reported bugs has been fixed. But looks like there is still a very hidden bug not covered by the past reports. We are working on it right now with the reported sites. If you can work with us to help the debug on your sites please create a ticket and well work on that together. We can not reproduce it on our test sites so we have to get users to help us to get this done. If you can not please just turn off the css/js combine feature for now until we have further notice. Sincerely apologize for the problem to your sites. Best regards, Abe Hi @waynep16 Some update related to the combined css/js 404 error leftovers: My further investigation on this css/js 404 error leftovers points the direction to a very hidden litespeed server bug, which is much harder to figure out at this moment. As a compensation, we can provide a temporary one-cover-all fix for this case for now: Please comment out the line 499 of the file /litespeed-cache/src/data.cls.php. https://github.com/litespeedtech/lscache_wp/blob/master/src/data.cls.php#L499. The content of this line is : unlink( $file_to_del ) This should fix your 404 errors leftovers. It works for both v4.4.2 and v4.4.3. And its supposed to be fixed officially in v4.4.4. Just for your information. Best regards, Abe Thank you. Lets push for a full fix Another day another website down and not working! Version 4.4.3 404 errors causing sites to break https://snipboard.io/KzRVk1.jpg WHEN will this be fixed it really is not acceptable for sites to just STOP loading Please upgrade to the latest dev branch v4.4.4-rc2. This bug in v4.4.3 is caused by some compatibility issue with some plugin version management plugins. When they do the plugin upgrading behind the scene it will cause some of the 404 error. Fixed in v4.4.4. The 404 errors we saw from past months were from different reasons. Some of the bugs were only getting recognized when certain situation happens and we got the report as well as got the access to check the servers, which may not be very easy to catch them. It takes time to catch them and fix them. Some bugs are like this way. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please upgrade. Best regards, Abe Hi guys, Im having compatibility issues with the Amelia Events plugin (https://wpamelia.com/) and Litespeed cache (current latest version 4.4.6). If I Purge all then the events load on the following page, although, after a certain duration they fail to load: https://prosafetytraining.com.au/practical-courses/quantitative-face-fit-test-training/#publicfacefitcourses I opened the Console in Chrome and Im seeing a heap of combined css and js 404 errors. Ill turn off the combined JS and CSS feature and continue to monitor daily for any issues. I hope you get this issue sorted soon as Ive been seeing this problem occurring off and on after each upgrade of Litespeed cache.
