Wordpress LScache Plugin: Time to First Byte has quadrupled
Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02 Last Monday 11th March, we switched from Apache to Litespeed on the same VPS. We found our load time and time to first byte both decreased. Last Friday 15th I was troubleshooting a theme issue, and switched to WP Super Cache. Today Monday 18th I switched back to Litespeed Cache, and now our time to first byte is quadruple that of last Mondays. No other plugins or content have been added, and we are on the same VPS. Help appreciated. This topic was modified 3 years, 8 months ago by insightdes. This topic was modified 3 years, 8 months ago by insightdes. The page I need help with: https://brand.insightdesign.com.au Hi, If you see cache header, you will see one of them shows x-litespeed-cache: no-cache and other one shows x-litespeed-cache: hit Did you modify anything that force homepage not to cache? Best regards No I didnt modify the home page not to cache. The site is multisite. The network admin Litespeed dashboard has Network Enable Cache = On Use Primary Site Configuration = On The primary site config had enable litespeed = use network setting. I changed this to Enable. I retested our site and the TTFB is still 1.2 seconds, versus 0.3 seconds originally. Hi @insightdes, is it also no plugin changed on network admin? Also, could you please provide your Report Number, found in?WP Admin > LiteSpeed Cache > Report. The plugin hasnt been changed in network admin either. Report number: QDQGDSFP. Hi, A similar problem for me, too. I have just moved my website from an Apache to Litespeed server hosting today. Significant loading time improvement, indeed. So I decided to switch from WP Rocket to Litespeed Cache. Time to first byte went from approx.250-300 ms to 2 full seconds! www: https://www.webpagetest.org/result/190320_2H_bfbf32da0d756a17b00231c2b000831f/ (TTFB: 0.424s) brand: https://www.webpagetest.org/result/190320_BA_a44d011e5dc72b260956d6e96f93b6e9/ (TTFB: 1.158s) digital: https://www.webpagetest.org/result/190320_5T_8258f5a313fecf7462159e36407eb32d/ (TTFB: 0.396s) Theyre all on the same WP install. Thanks for the information, we are investigating on the issue now, will reply you shortly. Hi @alex-mi, could you also provide your Report Number, found in?WP Admin > LiteSpeed Cache > Report. Solved, needed to change permissions to the lscache folder Hi @stanleylitespeed , any update available? Hi @insightdes, could you please join our Slack channel or submit a ticket here for helping us to investigate the issue? Thanks! Ive submitted a ticket. Thanks. Hi @stanleylitespeed, Litespeed support found that the subsite in question had an exclusion of /$ (I dont know who added that ? perhaps theme support). Removing this resolved the problem. Thank you for your help.
