Wordpress LScache Plugin: TTFB is higher with LiteSpeed active
Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02 Hey! First of all I must say that this is best speed up plugin I had. I tested most of popular cache plugins available and LS won for sure. But now I need your help. I already tried all disable/enable option with no result. My TTFB without any cache plugin is around 900 ms TTFB with LS active jump to around 2000 ms This speed was tested with GTmetrix (link to reports attached below) and Google Dev tools. No cache: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/trafionyzakup.pl/SyWNC38M LS cache: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/trafionyzakup.pl/tHs9gcvF My report: LNVTFDQG Pages which was already cached works fine, so currently I disable caching for test purpose. Only optimization setting are currently on. Can you help me with that issue? The page I need help with: https://trafionyzakup.pl/ Hi @trafionyzakup, may I know is the LS cache GTmetrix result checking on a cached page (with x-litespeed-cache:hit on header)? Hi Stanley, Below you can find GTmetrix with cached page as you requested: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/trafionyzakup.pl/Y9f8ETJE The TTFB for on the HIT site is the same as No Cache (507ms vs 518ms). Normally our cache will not slow down the sites TTFB if the page already gets HIT because the server is returning the HTML content directly. The reason for Cache MISS site TTFB longer is because the optm features itself will take time to run, which might increase the PHP loading time. You can use our crawler to warm up all pages to ensure you are serving a cached site: heres the instruction. Can this plugin warm cache for people on shared hosting where the crawler is not enabled? https://wordpress.org/plugins/warm-cache/ Thank you Stanley for explanation. I am on shared hosting so your tutorial cant help me. Nonetheless warm-cache plugin linked by politicske works fine, so it should be good for now. Hi @politicske, thanks for the suggestion, our crawler needs to use System Task Scheduler so it might not work on shared hosting. @trafionyzakup, sounds great! Just a friendly reminder to set the crawler run after TTL to get a fresh cache. @stanleylitespeed just to be clear, does that mean that the cache this plugin is keeping warm does not work with LiteSpeed plugin? If not, when is this feature coming? Hi @politicske, the plugin you mentioned (warm-cache) can keep the cache warm. The new version crawler is still under development, will let you know when we have a confirmed ETA. Thanks a lot for the confirmation. I thought you initially meant that it does not work. Will wait for the inbuilt crawler and thanks yall for the good work yall doing. same problem here! https://forum.openlitespeed.org/threads/google-crawler-time-download-page-with-litespeed.3862/ Hi @nextodigital, could you provide more details (e.g. Gtmetrix reports) of the issue?
