Wordpress LScache Plugin: Serve Existing WebP with LiteSpeed Cache
Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02 I would like to use LiteSpeed to serve WebP images that already exist. I have tried enabling Image WebP Replacement , but my site still displays JPEGs. I have created WebP versions of my original JPEG files using a plugin called ShortPixel. That plugin creates a file with the .webp extension in the same directory that contains the .jpg. For instance, I have these two files: /uploads/2019/07/PineappleStarfruitJulep12-600x850.jpg /uploads/2019/07/PineappleStarfruitJulep12-600x850.webp This image appears on my homepage. How can I go about serving the WebP files? I am using Chrome, and I have purged the LiteSpeed cache. I have verified that the images being loaded are JPGs by using the Network tab in Developer Console. The page I need help with: https://www.champagneandcoconuts.com/ Hi @jquisenberry , Enabling the option in Plugin only serves the WebP files generated by the Litespeed Image Optimization Tool. If youre looking to serve WebP, Please optimize the files using Litespeeds Tool, and they will be served just right Regards Hi, Please try to make the webp file name match as follow: original jpg file, lets say name: test.jpg then you have to make this webp file named as test.jpg.webp Thats the only case it will replace webp Best regards, Hello @jquisenberry, Im going to mark this topic Resolved , due to lack of activity. Have you tried generating the images using the LiteSpeed Image Optimization Tool or renaming the file as @CacheCrawler suggested? If neither of these suggestions addressed your issue let us know and well be happy to reopen the topic. Thanks! -Michael
