Wordpress LScache Plugin: Questions related CCSS and JS

Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02
Hello, we updated Litespeed plugin from 3.x to 4.x. Were trying with pleasure the Load CSS Asynchronously with the creation of the CCSS by default. I have some questions about its working: ? Why LS is listing also the JS files to create the CCSS? ? The files are listed here since some hours without any variation. Why it doesnt start automatically the making of the critical CSS? We obviously still have free tiers and also a positive balance on your web site. Thanks a lot. Hi, if you manually access these pages in list, what does it show ? Best regards, Hi @CacheCrawler, this morning the cron job scanned 150 files of 500 files about, so I cant see anymore the list part with JS files URLs. I can suppose that LS checked the JS files to see if some scripts actives some CSS to introduce inside the critical. What do you think? Thanks. Hi, actually , I think these pages are 404 pages , thats why I asked you to check in first reply when WP hit a 404 page, it will display wordpress-style 404 , that kind of page requires CCSS/UCSS as well , but it should be one-time generated and be reused in further 404 pages. Best regards, Today some other URLs of JS files appeared on the list and I tried to do what you suggested. I can confirm what you said, I had a 404. So why it listed them if they doesnt exist? I cant understand this. Another question. Is there a way to understand if the CCSS is created and well used by the pages? Because I have the impression that the web site now it is not working with CCSS. This is a supposition that Ive done looking the waterfall of files loaded. Thanks @CacheCrawler! Hi, the file may not exist, but wordpress still renders the page within wordpress framework , so it is added into the list. you can check the HTML source , and search for , if you see a CSS after this tag, then CCSS is there Best regards, The CCSS creation now is complete, because there isnt nothing more on the list. But is not present on the HTML file. Maybe it could be necessary to clean the cache completely to see it at work? Now the web site its working well, so in the case that something will be broken what do you suggest? Is there a chance to leave CSS async, but without the critical on? It is just a supposition right now, but Id like to play in advance. Thanks @CacheCrawler! Hi, please provide the report number , you can get it in toolbox -> report -> click send to LiteSpeed so in the case that something will be broken what do you suggest? well , I can only help on issues that DID happen , but I can not help on issues that has NOT YET happened? Is there a chance to leave CSS async, but without the critical on? before async and CCSS are 2 separated options , but we received a lot of complaints that user says site breaks and user freaks out due to async ON , CCSS OFF / CCSS not generated / failed to generated so we decided to combined them both for better user experience Best regards, Here it our report number: WKTIPMYW It could be caused by the fact that we introduced this snippet inside the function.php? if (strpos($_SERVER[REQUEST_URI], LSCWP_NONCE ) === false) ob_start( function($buffer) @header(X-LiteSpeed-Purge: nothing) return $buffer ) Thanks @CacheCrawler! Hi, please go to Cache -> Purge -> set serve stale to OFF It worked. Can I ask you why @CacheCrawler? my guess is serve stale will create a staled cache , but the CSS/JS file might not be there already , so it messes up Ok, we are going to test it a little bit. Thanks @CacheCrawler
