Wordpress LScache Plugin: Please, Help Me To Understand
Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02 Hello, Recently I have just messed up with my images, I lost all /wp-uploads contents. This happened after I clicked Destroy Optimization Data! which I thought this operation only affected to image which optimized with LiteSpeed Plugins. But turned out it wipe all of my images inside /wp-uploads including images which Id optimized with others plugin (wpsmush/shortpixel) one or two years ago when I didnt use LiteSpeed Plugin. then I think every image with underscore in its name will be considered as optimized by LiteSpeed, and when I destroyed all optimization these images will also be wiped. Am I correct with that thoughts? or did I do something wrong with Litespeed optimization? Thanks The destroy process just follows the successfully pulled ( means successfully optimized ) data in litespeed_img_optm table, which is generated by LiteSpeed optimization. Only affect the original xxx.jpg if xxx.bk.jpg exists. And also webp files. It wont touch other files. Can you create a tix and give the log or give a file list in one detail folder? If you can reproduce this issue, that could help too. LiteSpeed Plugin never create xx.bkjpg/png .. its only generated webp from existing images. the destroy process literally left nothing inside /wp-uploads .. only left one folder 2014 which is empty. and Im sorry, how do I make log? I:m not that techy, and also I have restored my /wp-uploads folder from previous backup. Please create a ticket. What is in your wp-uploads before you destroy? Hi @ants17, I just tried latest lscache version, both webp only enabled/disabled + destroy all images seems no issue. From report I can see webp only option is set to false which means theres something wrong from the beginning. Could you check if theres any other optimize plugin maybe cause the issue?? Eric. yes, I didnt activate webp only as Im using webp is in experimental to get best performance,and since one of social plugin I use doesnt recognize webp image version when I shared to Pinterest, I wanted to revert back to non webp version, this is the reason I destroy optimization. I think theres something wrong indeed, as mentioned before LiteSpeed plugin should create xx.bk.jpg/png, but Ive never seen files with that name in my image folder, ive just seen image_.png and image.webp variant. Other optimization images plugin I still have is shortpixel. Hi, I have been trying on this with shortpixel , but failed to reproduce this. Do you have a reliable way to reproduce this issue? Best regards, @CacheCrawler Im not sure how to reproduce it.. actually the images that been lost not only from shortpixel optimization results, but also from wpsmush and wp-reSmush (I switch from one plugin to another as sometimes a plugin can be bloated more & more.) ? theyre old generated images that ive been using in my blog. I tried to remember the step I took before I lost my images. 1. I click Undo optimization 2. I clean up unfinished data. 3. Destroy All optimization data. until this point, the images started not showing in my blog.. especially the main image I used for featured image, theyre all not showing in my post, while other thumbnails still showing one or two. I tried to clear the LiteSpeed cache, but the result was the same. they werent showing up. I tried to look at my media gallery, they were showing up, but not all images, only newest images that Ive uploaded between approx 3 ? 4 days. then I look into /wp-content/uploads turned out all the images were not there. I think that was I did, nothing else (other plugin etc) that I touched. Hi, So Ive tried again today , but still couldnt make it happen , followed the steps you said.
