Wordpress LScache Plugin: Permanently exclude images from optimization
Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02 Hi, is it possible to permanently block certain images from being pulled by the automatic cron requests for optimization? We are using some Animated PNG images which after optimization are not animated anymore. How to prevent them from being mangled by the image optimizer while still allowing all other (normal) images to be processed automatically after upload? Or? could I request that animated PNGs is not stripped from their animation anymore, like animated GIFs? BTW, that request would make more sense because then, even though the optimisation would be much less, they could still have an animated WEBP version Hi, well , I thought people do gif for animated image not immediate solution , but one work around is that , manually restore the backed up files in disk , so that way , the plugin sees this image is optmed already but in reality , its still original images, and it wont be processed to optm again Best regards, well , I thought people do gif for animated image Haha, well not always PNG has better color quality I suppose? manually restore the backed up files in disk Brilliant work-around! Will see if we need to bypass it or optimize it while keeping animation. Ruikai gave a brilliant solution. First time hear PNG can be animated too. LOL. @CacheCrawler while the solution to manually restore the original image is a brilliant hack, I found that it does leave the also non-animated webp version there. Simply removing that file will not do the trick I suppose? @hailite that would be fantastic either way. Bypass for now, maybe work on animated optimization later? Please also consider the webp version, which looses animation too at this point, while animated webp is possible.
