Wordpress LScache Plugin: Password protected pages with Edge
Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02 Ive found password protecting WordPress pages works fine with Chrome and Firefox, but with Microsoft Edge, you always see the password prompt. Looking at Edge in developer mode, the request for the page once the password has been entered returns a 304 Not Modified, and Edge decides to show the password request again. My current work around is to exclude the password protected pages from the cached URLs, but this is a relatively fragile solution.
