Wordpress LScache Plugin: PNG to WebP and Background Image WebP Replacement
Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02 Hello, I am very satisfied with your plugin. It makes a lot of websites I manage a lot faster, which is great! However, I now have the following questions for several websites: Report number: CMJUNUSB Report date: 07/14/2021 10:28:40 1. WebP replacing .PNG a. I have as an example this page: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fstandsite.com%2Fcorona-proof%2F&tab=mobile b. The .png images are not replaced with the .WebP version. In the media library I do see that there is a WebP version, see screenshot 1: https://share.getcloudapp.com/jkuPBXyz c. What can I do about this to fix it? 2. I am using the Oxygen Builder. a. On almost all pages I use background images in sections. These are also not converted to WebP format. b. I have already added attributes to the section myself and added them again within the plugin, see screenshot 2: https://share.getcloudapp.com/Kou45jez c. Still, I am doing something wrong here because it is not working. How can I solve this? Thank you very much in advance for your help! The page I need help with: https://standsite.com/en/corona-proof/ H, 1) Please check this page 2) CSS background webp support will be added in new version Best regards, Hi @CacheCrawler Hi, unfortunately the link doesnt help me resolve the .PNG not converting. Do you have any other suggestions? Best regards, Hi, no , I mean , that doc should explain to you why some images wont have webp WebP Images Not Generated If the WebP images cant be found in your file system, it is usually due to one of two reasons: WebP was enabled too late: Create WebP Versions should be turned ON before you begin Image Optimization. If you enable WebP after you have already begun Image Optimization, WebP files will not be generated for any images that have already been processed. If you wish to create WebP files for images that were already optimized, then you will need to Destroy All Optimization Data and start over. The WebP file is bigger than the JPEG: When Image Optimization creates a WebP file, if it is larger in size than the JPEG, the WebP file is discarded, since there is no benefit to serving a larger WebP file over a smaller JPEG. Hi, Im going to mark this topic Resolved , due to lack of activity. If you still need help, please feel free to re-open it. When re-open it, please also change the topic status to not solved Best regards,
