Nextgen Gallery thumbnails and images not optimized

Wordpress LScache Plugin: Nextgen Gallery thumbnails and images not optimized

Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02
Hello, I recently found out that Litespeed Cache is not optimizing Nextgen Gallery thumbnails and images. I have a long post with a number of galleries inserted and Google Page Speed is telling me a lot of images are not optimized. When I checked, Nextgen gallery thumbnails in the post are not webp nor optimized, as neither are gallery full images. This also happens in the Gallery plugin pages. Lazy load option is also not working, so Im having trouble with this long post that lacks a lot of optimization. Id really appreciate any help here. Thanks. The page I need help with: https://volavi.co/viajes-turismo/vacaciones-cortas-turin-torino-reporte-viaje Hi, Are these images are uploaded by WP media page ? because if files outside of /uploads/` will probably not be optimized , as there is no record for them in database. for lazyload , could you please specify a little how not working ? Best regards, Hello, Correct, the files were uploaded in Nextgen Gallery directly, not media page, and files were saved outside upload directory. This means I must upload files first to Media and then import to Nextgen Gallery? Will this create duplicate files? The one in media uploads and the one in Nextgen gallery folder? Regarding lazyload, images are not tagged for lazyloading, so explorer is trying to fetch all the images at once. This is only happening to Nexten Gallery images. Thanks. Hi, I dont know how that gallery works , but can it not be able to use WP existing files ? Does gallery has lazyload on its own ? Best regards, Hello, But Litespeed Cache plugin says it is compatible with Nextgen Gallery, so Id expect to work with it. However it is not optimizing anything related to this plugin. Id like to understand if this is some sort of error in my site or it is just the expected behavior with this plugin. Id like to know if theres any fix. As far as Im concerned Nextgen Gallery does not have its own lazyload. Shouldnt Litespeed Cache be able to to this? Thanks. Hi, Yes, it is , or it was , because if our part or their part did upgrade on something , it could break something , but we will fix if there is any issue. As far as I know , and based on google search result I just did , it should have its own lazyload it depends on how images are loaded , if images are loaded by 3rd party JS , instead of regular HTML code , LSCWP may not be able to lazy-load it Best regards,
