Negative figure for optimised image

Wordpress LScache Plugin: Negative figure for optimised image

Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02
Hi there, I have some images in my media library where it says the optimised original is -70% and saved -53288 b . Does this mean the image being displayed is actually 53kb larger than the original? Also, can I check something else ? one of the settings says optimise original images . Does that mean the backed-up originals are actually optimised, too, or are the originals left untouched in the backup folder? I just find the words optimise original images a little conflicting with the statement underneath that they are backed-up because, of course I want to optimise the originals ? I am not optimising anything else, so I dont see the point of the setting unless it turns off storing unoptimised originals. Sorry for my misunderstanding there. Hi, Could you please provide a screenshot of the negative figure ? You can upload image to some place like imgur.com Best regards, Oh, also, the number of images pulled (812 in this case) does not match the number of backed up images (689 in this case). Is there a reason for this? I am a bit worried my original images are not being backed up. Hi, You can verify it by check the file system you should see all the original images are copied with name image.bk.jpg Best regards, Yes, Imgur link is https://imgur.com/a/IDfyA0M Hi, Now this is really weird. Please check in your file system , and please post the actual size for both optimized image and original image , lets see if that is media info goes wrong and file size is really result in negative value. Best regards, Hi, Im going to mark this topic Resolved, due to lack of activity. If you still need help, please check the actual size of those image files and let us know what it is. Well be happy to reopen the topic if necessary. Thanks!
