Wordpress LScache Plugin: LSCWP on Apache not working
Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02 Trying to configure LSCWP plugin to optimize the website without LiteSpeed server. Shared hosting running on Apache. Tried with default settings without any luck and then imported LSCWP_Basic profile. Website loads slower than when the plugin is turned off which tells me the plugin isnt working properly. https://check.lscache.io/?host=https%3A%2F%2Freify2.dreamhosters.com shows LSCache is not supported . Also, looking at the headers I can confirm that X-LiteSpeed-Cache is missing, only tag present is x-litespeed-tag: 224_HTTP.200 . Sent a report: JQXCIHDJ. Thanks for any help/feedback. The page I need help with: https://reify2.dreamhosters.com Hi, yes , because if page is not cached , it has to process all the filters and optimization process , these steps will add more time to load for example : no plugin -> 2 seconds plugin + cache miss -> 2.5 seconds plugin + cache hit -> 1 seconds you will need to combine it with QUIC cloud CDN , as the CDN will do the page caching for you Best regards, Thanks for the reply. Still not sure if I understand.. I was reading a lot about how this plugin can speed up WP websites without the LiteSpeed server or QUIC CDN. On this page (https://docs.litespeedtech.com/lscache/lscwp/beginner/) it says To turn on caching, navigate to LiteSpeed Cache > Cache > Cache and set Enable Cache to ON. You could stop right there, never configure another setting, and the plugin would probably speed up your site very nicely. The default settings are specifically chosen to work with the majority of sites right out of the box. This contradicts my experience and what you say ( because if page is not cached , it has to process all the filters and optimization process , these steps will add more time to load ) Since I dont see LiteSpeed tag (hit or miss) in my pages header, does that mean that the page cache is not working at all? Is there something that my hosting provider needs to configure/enable for this plugin to work properly? Hi, the plugin has 2 parts of features 1) caching , 2) page optimization the part 2) , works on any server , but part 1) , it requires one of the following : LiteSpeed WebServer , OpenLiteSpeed, LiteSpeed ADC , QUIC cloud CDN no , if your provider is using Apache , then caching just wont work there , you need to use QC CDN Sorry, I think I am not using the proper terminology. Im referring to the page optimization. Are you saying that without the QUIC CDN it doesnt make sense to use this plugin on Apache server? I thought the page optimization part would do the same as some other plugins like W3C, etc? I thought the page optimization part would do the same as some other plugins like W3C, etc? yes, it does , but please re-read my first reply if you only run page optm , without caching , it will slow down the page , because optimization process could be time consuming , so it need to combine with cache to get optimal result OK.. finally understand.
