LSC didnt create .webp for all image sizes

Wordpress LScache Plugin: LSC didnt create .webp for all image sizes

Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02
Hey guys, Im already in level 5 on LSCache Image Optimization, all was working fine, but it seems I found a bug today.. webp is all configured and working, but LSC didnt create .webp for a few sizes of a specific image (it created .webp for all other images and created .webp for a few sizes of this image, but not all). I already deleted the image and uploaded it again, but didnt work. LSCache created the same webp files again for 150?150, 300?300, 650?650 and 768?768.jpg.webp were created, but the original size and 1080?650.jpg.webp were not created. ? Settings Im using: Optimize Automatically ON Optimization Cron ON Optimize Original Images ON Remove Original Backups ON Image WebP Replacement ON WebP For Extra srcset ON Optimize WebP Versions ON ? Issue screenshot: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rE9pufQyjGwEmNn7fw9ATz49DBQMUwIy/view?usp=sharing ? Image with problem: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IZ2ttiHpqb6yJeV-n_KZU5xAzbZq3ZS0/view?usp=sharing Question: should the plugin create .webp for all image sizes always? or does it only create .jpg.webp when it is smaller than .jpg version? PS: Im a developer and I can help fixing this bug, just let me know in which part of the plugin code I should check. Thank you Hi, By design , it should generate webp for all the images it encounters , but there are some exceptions 1) if generated webp is larger than its original , then there will be no point to keep so just discard it. 2) in some rare case, some certain images would failed to generate , due to any kind of error , it could be network communication issue , md5sum check failed , or how image was created (color profile, encoding?etc ) will result webp generation failed. Please go to Media page, reset the image that doesnt have webp , and then send that one to optimize again , and see how it goes. Also please try v3 as well , many of errors were fixed in v3 Best regards,
