Wordpress LScache Plugin: Images failed to optimize
Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02 Hi Firstly, thank you for creating such a fantastic plugin ? I wouldnt want to set up a WordPress site on a non-LiteSpeed server now. Ive just got a couple of queries relating to some recent image optimisations: 1. 25 out of about 2000 images failed to optimise ? is there a quick way to find out which images are affected and is it possible to re-submit those images for a further optimisation attempt? 2. I notice that a number of images in the media library show text in black under the LiteSpeed Optimization column header, with no accompanying icon and no ability to click on them ? are these the images that have failed to optimise properly, or does this signify somethings else? Many thanks in advance for your help. Liam Hi Liam, 1. Failed to optimize images cant be retried. Even you do so, it will still fail until we improve our optimization in future. Currently if it failed, mostly thats because its already well optimized. To tell which is affected, kind of same question as 2). Maybe in future we can give a better indicator in Media library list. Thank you for the fast response. A way to filter the library to show images that have failed optimisation would definitely be useful. I have WebP conversion enabled and, in some instances, the black text and no icon in my media library is just for the WebP version and the original image shows as correctly optimised and in use ? would this count as one of the failures given on the optimization page of the plugin? You mention in your response that the images probably failed due to them already being well optimised it would still be good if WebP versions could be created for these, even if the original files are not further optimised. Perhaps as you improve your optimisation, you could enable the resubmission of those images that have failed under older versions of your optimising system. Thanks again Liam Optimization failed notification only happened when both original and webp failed to optimize. Currently the icon only shows when the main image is optimized successfully. But the optimized info includes more, e.g. the child images. Thats why some of images dont have icons. Anyways, this part is in our dev list because we also need to do some compatibility improvement with other plugins on this. I look forward to seeing how the plugin continues to develop. Thanks.
