Wordpress LScache Plugin: Image Optimization

Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02
Hi, where can we find more information about the new image optimization feature? Such as what images does it optimize, what type of optimization e.g., lossless/lossey, where the optimization occurs e.g., on host server or elsewhere, is there a restore function, what is the cost? Thanks I did turn this option on yesterday. Turned out that it was a mistake. All my images got blurry. So I think we can assume that the optimisation is not lossless. Hi @arrebarre, will talk in your post https://wordpress.org/support/topic/reverse-image-optimisation/ We will provide a restore option in this week. After optimized, the original image yourname.jpg from your site is stored as yourname.bk.jpg. As per the OP, I would also like more information on how the optimization process actually works?. Hi, guys. Heres some documentation on the process. I hope it answers your questions. Thanks read the article, can you tell me what Image Optimization Library is used? Yes, its imagick. Hi I also give a try to this image optimization butI do not get any yourname.bk.jpg, but only the orginal and the .webp version. ? a restore option will be cool but what if ?.bk.jpg are not there? Thanks If you dont have .bk.jpg that means that jpg cant be optimized, so the plugin didnt fetch it, only fetched .webp file for future usage. Ok @hailite But Ill wait for a restore option before going live to all my websites. Question: I supposed that when we click on the button: Send Optimization Request, it only scan/look at the files that have never been processed? Because on a site I have about 3000 images? Thanks It will only send the images that are never sent before. Each time you click request, it will mark them as sent in your database. However, if you restored your site, the images will be sent again as the previous mark lost. In that case, I would suggest you dont do it for now. Later we will add a check for that case. Hi, I clicked to send images to be optimized. It sent 100. It has been a couple days and it does not show any that have been pulled. I disabled wp-cron and setup a manual cron job to ping wp-cron every 60sec. Could this be causing an issue with the image optimizer fetching the optimized images? Now, when I click to send images to be optimized I get this error Failed to push to LiteSpeed server: too many images in one post Any idea how to fix? Greatly looking forward to the automated update Thanks! Hi n4bblucas, Do you mind to paste your question on a new post? and please provide your site link if possible. If you want to keep your site link privacy, please send a ticket to LiteSpeed. Best, Eric
