Wordpress LScache Plugin: How to improve Time to First Byte

Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02
Hi Folks, Our webpagetest.org result shows a TTFB of 0.388s, testing the web server in Perth (Western Australia) from Sydney (see result). We have Litespeed Cache enabled and configured. Can you provide some advice on how to improve the TTFB? Litespeed TTFB hasnt been much different to Apache TTFB. Thanks, Steve This topic was modified 3 years, 8 months ago by insightdes. If you are not sure about it, please provide?your Report Number, found in?WP Admin > LiteSpeed Cache > Report. Report number: QDQGDSFP Thanks. Hi @insightdes, we find that your .htaccess contain more around 11k rows, .htaccess file is loaded every time a document is requested by a browser, bulky .htaccess files might affect TTFB. Refactoring your .htaccess content and remove some unnecessary logic will improve TTFB. Be aware some content is generated by LiteSpeed or other plugins, editing wrongly may crash the site, please make sure you understand your action before you make changes. I have reduced the .htaccess file from 330 KB to 28 KB. The TTFB is now 0.391s & 0.428s. Hello? Hi @insightdes, could you please join our Slack channel or submit a ticket here for sharing us more information. No problem Stanley, Ive submitted a ticket. Cheers.
