Wordpress LScache Plugin: How long does it take to purge the cache?
Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02 Whenever I try to purge the cache by any of the available methods that the plugin offers, it seems to take forever for the pages to become uncached. Right now I have pages live on my clients site that appear broken because the cache will not clear. I know that there is nothing wrong with the pages, because I can see the correct page content when logged in. It says Notified LiteSpeed Web Server to purge all caches. how long should I expect this to generally take? This topic was modified 5 years, 1 month ago by rbergeron81. It shouldnt take long at all. Is it possible that there is another cache in play? Possibly a browser cache? When you check the response headers, do they indicate a LiteSpeed Cache hit? (This is a guide for checking the headers, if you are unfamiliar with what to look for.) Just checked, the page shows X-LiteSpeed-Cache hit in Firefox, IE and Chrome when not logged in and immediately after a purge all. Here is the Environment Report: https://pastebin.com/p9fSKGXy Here is the debug.log: https://pastebin.com/942T7kiv Also, here is the page in question: http://insearchofyummyness.com/portfolio/ It should be showing up with all of this content like this: https://www.screencast.com/t/oLcj6s3vYfH I loaded the page myself and checked your response headers, and I see that you have X-LiteSpeed-Cache (like you said) but also X-Sucuri-Cache. Im not familiar with that one, but if you have two full-page caches running at the same time, its going to cause weird behavior. I recommend choosing one and sticking with that. Also, it says you are running nginx as your server? LiteSpeed Cache only works with a LiteSpeed server. I suspect one of those two things is your problem, but if I am misunderstanding your setup in some way, please let me know. Okay, I just deactivated the LiteSpeed Cache plugin, but it is still showing in the response header as a hit. Is there extra steps I need to take to fully disable it? Hmmm. How about your .htaccess file? Are there still LiteSpeed-related lines in it? If so, try removing them. Yup, removed those lines too. I think you are right that there is other caching present, possibly through the sucuri security plugin. I just wanted to add, if youre still having problems after this, its most likely a server issue (as opposed to a plugin issue), and its not something we can help with on the WP forum. Im sorry about that. If you create a ticket through our site or send email to bug at litespeedtech.com, though, the server support team can have a look. Ah, just saw your other reply. Yes, definitely something going on with that sucuri plugin, but at the same time, the LiteSpeed-Cache header should no longer be there if youve deactivated the plugin. I suggest opening a ticket so you can get to the bottom of it. Good luck! Okay, thanks for your help. I will look into this at the server level.
