Wordpress LScache Plugin: Get your update notifications out of my Dashboard
Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02 Can we please stop this ridiculous and unnecessary nonsense now before it gets out of hand? https://cl.ly/3bcd0c683541 WordPress has a built-in system for alerting admins to the presence of updates. I do not require each and every plugin to be putting an alert at the top of my screen. I do not want this in a couple of years time. https://cl.ly/d4a003193c31 By all means give me a wonderful dashboard widget with this excellent information: https://cl.ly/455d27b30073 But please get out of the notifications area. The more notifications there are the more noise there is and the more people will just dismiss them without reading them and potentially miss something actually critical. Thanks Hi, Ross I feel your pain. When a lot of plugins leave notifications, it takes over your dashboard and gets out of hand. We do have a reason for alerting you to a new version, and it has to do with the compatibility between the various services we offer (image optimization, critical CSS generation, etc.) Often the services wont work with older versions of the plugin. That said, we could probably handle this better. I like your idea of a dashboard widget. We are discussing this internally. I cant promise change right now, but I can promise that well look into some way to make this less painful. Thanks for your honest feedback and suggestion!
