Wordpress LScache Plugin: GZIP enabled on server for the image/svg+xml file type

Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02
Hi, Thanks for the great plugin Im looking into using SVGs on my site for logo, etc. I read that if you have never used SVGs before, ensure you have GZIP enabled on your server for the image/svg+xml file type. According to my hosting service, The GZIP module is already enabled on the server, to compress them add this in .htaccess. I dont see GZIP or svg in my .htaccess, but you guys take care of that right??? I found this https://www.litespeedtech.com/support/wiki/doku.php/litespeed_wiki:config:gzip-compression BUT I cant seem to figure out how to find / do this in WP admin: gzip Compression section of the WebAdmin console (Configuration > Server > Tuning). You first must make sure Enable Compression is set to Yes In summary, my end goal: have GZIP enabled on my server for the image/svg+xml file type. Help! Thanks a lot Hi, According to my hosting service, The GZIP module is already enabled on the server, to compress them add this in .htaccess. what is this ? that should be the code you need to enable gzip the file type you need Best regards, Hi, @wprox I popped over here from the other thread, as requested Honestly, @CacheCrawler knows more about GZIP than I do. But in case you misunderstood his reply, let me rephrase it: Your hosting service told you The GZIP module is already enabled on the server, to compress them add this in .htaccess. Was there anything else that they said? It looks to us, like they were telling you to add a particular piece of code to your .htaccess file. Did they provide that code to you? When they say add this in .htaccess what this are they referring to? If you can answer that, it should solve your issue! Thanks so much Lisa and @CacheCrawler! I was confused about who should be making those changes to my .htaccess file. No, they didnt mention what to do before, although I just followed up, and they did now. So I should be good. Great! Thanks for the update
