Wordpress LScache Plugin: Does LiteSpeed cause issues with website backups?
Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02 I have used UpdraftPlus and MigrateGuru for backing up and cloning sites for a while now on a server that does not have LiteSpeed. I find both of them to be reliable. I changed my hosting service to one that uses LiteSpeed. Now, I find that when I do a full website clone, most frequently, a slightly older version of the site shows up on the target (destination) domain. With my previous web hosting service, I have used this process and never noticed any issues. I am wondering if LiteSpeed (which did not exist on my last hosting service) could be causing this issue. The following notice from UpdraftPlus also bolstered my suspicion: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/i-am-having-trouble-backing-up-and-my-web-hosting-company-uses-the-litespeed-webserver/ I am not sure if my critically important backups are reliable anymore. For the websites where I will need backup, can I turn LiteSpeed off? Is that even possible? Or is there another solution? TIA. Hi, If that backup takes long time to finish , then it could be interrupted by LiteSpeed WebServer as it has a timeout on HTTP connection and also max execution time on PHP process. the link your provided has already given the solution. can I turn LiteSpeed off? Is that even possible? Or is there another solution? thats not possible if you are using shared hosting, it is controlled by your provider. Best regards,
