Wordpress LScache Plugin: Divi & CCSS Failure
Last Updated on: Wed, 15 Apr 2026 00:00:02 Hi there, I have a number of sites built with the divi builder theme. I use litespeed on all of them. However, Im having problems with the CCSS refreshing when updates are applied. Every time in update arrives from Divi to update their theme I apply it and for some reason the CSS fails to load ? these basically creates a broken layout. The fix is to purge all in litespeed and everything starts working again. (Logs enabled / available for review btw). This is happening on a number of sites every time Divi updates and means I have to keep checking every week to make sure layouts dont break. Here is a list of what I have tried: Uninstalling all other plugins apart from divi and litespeed ? issue still persists (fix as above) Disabled all minification and combining of CCS and JavaScript in Divi ? issue still persists (fix as above) Reset litespeed, no other plugins, default settings, no minification combining in Divi ? issue still persists (fix as above) Uninstalling lightspeed add running updates with no additional plugins ? issue solved (but no litespeed) I wondered if you would be happy to take a look at the logs to see what may be happening ? it seems to be something to do with lightspeed and Divi. Report number:?TWVPGQYZ Report date:?12/03/2020 10:35:28 The page I need help with: https://www.ebonyandivorygalleries.com/ Hi, these basically creates a broken layout. The fix is to purge all in litespeed and everything starts working again Reset litespeed, no other plugins, default settings, no minification combining in Divi ? issue still persists (fix as above) if you got that happens with default setting , then its not related to CCSS , default setting got CCSS off what do you see in dev tool about request ? from your description , its like CSS file cant get loaded ? do you see anything like 404 403 500 503 error about CSS files when that happens ? Best regards, Thank you for the response @CacheCrawler. Ok looking at WP system health I do have an entry with the heading A scheduled event is late with the recurriing messags: The scheduled event, litespeed_task_imgoptm_pull, is late to run. Your site still works, but this may indicate that scheduling posts or automated updates may not work as intended. The scheduled event, litespeed_task_ccss, failed to run. Your site still works, but this may indicate that scheduling posts or automated updates may not work as intended. I do have the Cron Events plugin installed to monitor this and I am also seeing There was a problem spawning a call to the WP-Cron system on your site. This means WP-Cron events on your site may not work. The problem was: Unexpected HTTP response code: 503 However?.I have these entries accross all 14 sites I have with litespeed installed on and I do not have the layout breaking issue on all of them. In fact for one website I have identiical plugins and themes, the ebonyandivory layout breaks while the other does not. I have checked logs and I cant see any 404 403 500 503 error. Although the logs seem to only be a snapshot, I cant go back to see the last update event when purged / fixed. Also, when I enable and disable combine / minification on Divi (with litespeed installed and active, default settings) this also fixes the layout issue. All I notice is that when litespeed is uninstalled / not active the layout break does not occur. Its a great plugin so I really appreciate your help to get to the bottom of this. Sorry Devtools, yes?. DevTools failed to load SourceMap: Could not load content for https://www.ebonyandivorygalleries.com/wp-content/themes/Divi/includes/builder/frontend-builder/build/frontend-builder-scripts.js.map: HTTP error: status code 404, net::ERR_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE_FAILURE DevTools failed to load SourceMap: Could not load content for https://www.ebonyandivorygalleries.com/wp-content/themes/Divi/js/custom.js.map: HTTP error: status code 404, net::ERR_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE_FAILURE DevTools failed to load SourceMap: Could not load content for https://www.ebonyandivorygalleries.com/wp-content/themes/Divi/includes/builder/frontend-builder/build/frontend-builder-global-functions.js.map: HTTP error: status code 404, net::ERR_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE_FAILURE Does this help? Hi, the cron job, regardless failed or succussed has nothing to do with this issue, based on your description. the dev tool message you posted are sourcemap , these is not relevant. when I enable and disable combine / minification on Divi (with litespeed installed and active, default settings) this also fixes the layout issue. so you mean if you goes with default setting on LSCWP , it works ? what if Divi min/com OFF + LSCWP default ? for some reason the CSS fails to load if CSS fails to load , it will give some reason , like 404 on CSS file , failed to download CSS file ?etc , dev tool should mention that. this what Id like to know , which files failed to download or what response code it gave back. you may need to open dev tool , before you open the site. Best regards, Thank you @CacheCrawler Ok so loading the site with devtools open beforehand presents this CSS error: GET https://www.ebonyandivorygalleries.com/css?family=Gentium+Basic:regular,italic,700,700italicDosis:200,300,regular,500,600,700,800Barlow+Condensed:100,100italic,200,200italic,300,300italic,regular,italic,500,500italic,600,600italic,700,700italic,800,800italic,900,900italicHerr+Von+Muellerhoff:regularBad+Script:regular net::ERR_ABORTED 404 when I enable and disable combine / minification on Divi (with litespeed installed and active, default settings) this also fixes the layout issue. so you mean if you goes with default setting on LSCWP , it works ? I mean the last time this happened (site layout broke after theme / WP update), I can fix it when I login to WP, trip combine / minify on DIVI (this, all the while LSCWP reports purged successfully and at default settings). Sorry, I hope that is a little clearer. In short: either a trip of DIVI comb/mini settings OR a purge all of LSCWP will fix the layout (until the next major theme / WP update) I really appreciate your help here, thank you so much.
