Can i just check please, does this feature clean css/js in the database optimiser, do anything that permanent? so for e.g., if i hit it and it breaks the css / js is the only way back, restoring a back up please? or if i uninstall your plug in, will the css / js go back or will this change them permanently? Be good to know exactly what this button does please. i tried to find a link to info on this but couldnt find anything. thanks! Hi, Matt. That option cleans up data related to minification and combination of your CSS/JS files. Its only useful if youve enabled CSS or JS Minify or Combine in the Settings > Optimize tab. It doesnt touch your original CSS or JS files at all, so in the unlikely event that something unforseen happened with that data, youd still have your original files. Worst-case scenario, you turn off the minification/combination functions for a while, while you restore the data. I hope this clarifies it! Hey Lisa, ok thanks! Ok yes so i have Minify and combine of both CSS and JS on. So when you say worst case scenario, whilst i restore them, do you mean id need to turn off the minify and combine whilst i do a file restore from the back up? or is there another way to go backwards if something breaks please? prefer not to have to do a full file restore (or would it just need a database restore please?) Thanks Honestly, it depends on what breaks. This is a simple database function that really should never cause any issues. The cleanup merely deletes old records that are no longer needed. If, somehow, it turns out you were to need those old records (though, I cant see how) then yes, you could turn off minify and combine while you restored that particular data from backup. Now, if something bigger were to happen, some kind of database corruption, then your whole site would stop working until you restored a full database backup. But again, I must stress, that this is a low-risk operation, using a basic SQL TRUNCATE function and removing data that nobody needs anymore. I hope Ive put your mind at ease! ok thanks Lisa, ill give it a go.
